A-6 Intruder
A paper model of the American A-6 Intruder attack plane was made in 1:33 scale. The work was awarded at the 8th Competition of Paper and Plastic Models in Świdnik, Poland in 2014.
The A-6 Intruder was an American two-seater carrier-based attack aircraft capable of low altitude flights and tasks in all weather conditions. It was stood out from other aircraft by its long range and the weight of the carried weapons.
The aircraft entered service with the United States Navy in 1963. It took part in the Vietnam War, in operations in the Middle East and Africa, and in Operation Desert Storm in 1991. It was retired in 1997. Its tasks were taken over by the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet aircraft.
The A-6 Intruder did not have built-in shooting weapons. However, the aircraft could carry quite a lot of weapons on five hardpoints. These could be various types of bombs, rocket pods, air-to-ground or air-to-air missiles, napalm tanks or additional fuel tanks.
